How can I make my bedroom colder?

I've tried a fan but it just blows hot air around. Any suggestions? Thanks=)

I'm guessing you are suffering through the summer with no air conditioning? Me too! This is what I do: during the day, I keep my room and my entire house shut tight. Close all the windows, blinds, curtains, doors, everything. And leave a fan running in every room. Then later in the evening, open everything up. Open the blinds, and make sure all the windows are wide open and the fans are on. But dont open it up until the temperature is cooler outside than in! It works pretty well for me and my family.

turn the air conditioning on! it can be a little pricey so when you do have it on close your door so the cold air is trapped inside.

If you have two windows, put a fan in each, one blowing in, and the other blowing out. You'll cycle the air in the room pretty quickly.

One windows? A bi-directional window fan with two fans, independent controls. One fan blows out, the other blows in.

Extreme? Stick aluminum foil on the outside of your windows, shiniest side out, and try to apply it as smoothly as possible.

No windows? Box fan in your doorway, blowing in either direction. Unless it's hotter outside the room.

Don't forget to close your cold air return vents, if you have any.
