How can I make my brothers budgie be quiet??

Question

The silly bird just will not be quiet. It wouldn't be so bad if his chirping wasn't continuous but he wont stop. It just keeps going and won't be quiet, it thinks everything is a game.

It wakes me eary in the morning, makes it hard to concentrate on homework and is just really really irritating.

I try putting in the dark, but that only stops it for a little while. It even chirps and jumps around in its cage in the middle of the night when it's comletely dark.

I'm so annoyed with it!!!!!!!!

usually when a budgie is like that is when it is yearning for attention. try playing with it for a while. you can also try getting it a mate or a cage campanion.usually budgies when they feel alone chirp with all their might. always disturbs me in the morning . so i usually have it loose in the day. it stop making all that noise when i let it loose and put a perch near the window it shuts up for the whole day

Can you put him in another room.  Does he have lots of toys to play with?  Sometimes birds will have night frights in the middle of night for some reason they just completely freak and flop around their cages. Who knows the reason it could be anything. Covering him should calm him down. Budgies are happy chirppy little birds, have you tried ear plugs, or even putting some quiet music on.  Just try real hard not to let it get to you, the more you think about the more irritating it will be for you

there are many reasons why a bird does continues chirping or screaming.the first reason is attention. the bird is probably asking for attention and play time out of the cage. so monitor and ask your brother how much time he spends with the bird out of the cage of if he even does it at all. if he doesn't(tell him to). if he doesn't you might have to yourself. the #1 thing you don't want to do is run to him when he starts. if you do he will realize if he chirps(you will come)

another reason is their might be something wrong with his diet. what does he eat? he should have a well balanced diet of seeds/or pellets and fruits and vegetables.he should also have plenty of toys!

their might even be something wrong with the placement of the cage. their might be  animals or objects around the cage that he doesn't like.

my gut feeling is that it has to do with the time you guys play with him. if your brother doesn't YOU SHOULD!

put a blanket over the cage so that no light will get in that should quiet him down. If he still chirps, turn off the TV and music, this causes them to chirp excessively if the appliances are loud. because they are competeing with the noise. By the way, can we trade? My budgie is very quiet.
