  1. Consider your atmosphere, comfort, drinks, and food.

    Atmosphere - Visuals:

Scatter simple votive candles, or have a couple of groups of pillar candles that are different heights.

Ask your florist for a minimalist arrangement with a spectacular bloom. Or ask for a tight stack of long-stemmed roses in a square planter. They bind the roses into a square at a couple of places to make a sculptural arrangement. Either type would be very sophisticated. Or describe the atmosphere you want to create and let them decide (sophisticated, elegant, celebretory, unique, cheerful).

If you don't have one, buy a real cotton/linen (no acetate) table cloth and cloth napkins. It's so much nicer to have cloth napkins in your hand than paper napkins.

You can rent silverplate serving dishes, sterling silver buffet warmers, flatware, and crystal glasses. They will also have silver candelabras for rent.

    Atmosphere- Audio:

I found an album on i-Tunes that has all the classical tunes I'd associate with a brunch, like Bach. It's called "The Sunday Brunch Album" by Janos Rolla and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra. My other choice would be lots of classic lounge (Sinatra, etc.). I found an album called Into the Lounge, also on i-Tunes. You could also try an album of jazz hits, or Dixieland jazz.

    Comfort

Be sure you have lots of squishy upholstered seating. Don't let anyone sit in a chair without arms. (Ditch the folding chairs.) Borrow cushy club chairs from friends if you need more seating. NO FOLDING CHAIRS!! :D If you have a kitchen with counter seating, that's also good.

    Drinks (alcohol)

Kir Royale (if you live near a big city, you may be able to get true cassis liqueur from France)

    Alize Gold Passion

    Brandy Milk Punch

Spring for Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee beans (very expensive).

This is my favorite album right now: Dimanche a Bamako (Sunday in Bamako) by Amadou and Mariam. It's all in French, but perfect for brunch.

Supernatural by Santana (or even better, Sacred Fire, in which the group is live in South America. It's a nice change from hearing their studio work.)

  3. Go to a chinese seafood resturant and order shrimp or pork dumplings, sticky rice wrap, egg tarts, egg rolls, and steamed bbq pork buns. Another fantastic idea is having breakfast food for brunch, lunch or dinner!! Such as pancakes, waffles, muffins, french toasts, cereal and milk, tater tots, hashbrowns, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon strips.
