  1. *Your dog may just be hungry. Try feeding twice a day - keep it to the same total amount though.

*Keep the dogs living area clean of p**p.

*Teach your dog the "off" training command. This is a basic obedience command, which your dog should respect if you have established yourself as the alpha dog..

*Add a little Pineapple, Pumpkin, or Spinach to your dogs meal. Apparently these things taste horrible in the p**p. Alternatively, you can try putting a repellant substance like hot pepper or tabasco sauce directly onto the f***s to make it unpleasant to eat.

*Use a pet  product specially designed for this common problem.

*Use the "negative association" training method though the use of a prong or choke collar. Any time your dog starts to eat  f***s say No! and immediately give the lead a sharp tug. This provides a correction to your dog, and will establish that trying to eat p**p is not a pleasant experience! You have to be consistent using this method, it must be applied every time not just some of the time.

One last bit of good news is that most dogs eventually grow out of this habit .

  2. put hot sauce on it. My dogs will avoid hot sauce at all cost.

  3. Some puppies just cant resist eating it, and will usually grow out of it. This condition is called "Coprophagia". It can be a puppy thing, behavior issue, or there could be an underlying medical cause. Here is a link to explain,

But until then there is a something you can put in their food to discourage them from eating it. There is a product called "Deter".

I pick up my dogs droppings, and dispose of them. This will eliminate the eating problem all togethor, and reduce parasite ingestion/infestation.

  4. Try this. If you catch him with p**p it his mouth tell him "No" firmly. If you are outside and he tries to eat it pull him away and say "No" or you could use "leave it"

My dog used to do this when she was younger but she has just started to get over it.

  5. Hey, you know what? I dont want to burst your bubble or anything but alot of dogs do that. So i think your just going to have to deal with it. From what i know it can not harm your dog in any way.

  6. I'm sorry, I don't have time to go around putting hot sauce on dog poo. That time would be much better spent simply cleaning up the poo so she can't get it in the first place.

Sure you could sprinkle things on it, you could feed chemical food additives to make the poo taste bad. But you bet that dog will find the one poo without hot sauce, and as soon as you stop the additive, the dog will know and likely start eating poo again.

A couple options, go out with her and clean up right away, don't give her the chance to eat it.

Instead of chemicals you could try adding a bit of pineapple to her food. This will make the poo taste icky too.

***ADD, Pedigree is a poor quality food and can actually be part of the cause for her stool eating. Pedigree is full fillers the dog can't digest, it is very possible that she is not getting enough nutrients from her food. I'd switch her to a high quality food that is more digestable for her. She'll get more nutrients, poo less, and probably eat less too since she is getting more nutrients out of her food. Some good ones to try are Innova, Eagle Pack Holistics, Wellness, and Solid Gold.

  7. depends what you feed it.

if you feed tin food and or cheap dry food, (and i dont reccomend it, its nasty!) you can get a product called thrive d made by nature vet. it helps them to absorb the most nutrition out of the food and takes some of the smell away.

if you feed other food, take a look at what you are feeding. animals eat thier faeces if they havent absorbed all they can out of it the first time. thing like veggies are good for dogs, but wont be digested properly unless they are mashed, chopped really finely or blended. this is because in the wild they do not just eat a carot out of the ground. when they kill a herbivorous animal, the first thing they eat is the stomach and its contents, so the food is partially broken down... se the logic?

another reason dogs may eat thier poo is because they are missing some sort of vitamin or mineral in thier diet.

so in any case, look at the diet and re-evaluate what you are feeding.

remember that some dogs just cant be stopped eating it.

    good luck!

  8. Feed her pineapple, and make sure she eat dog food with alot of protein and veggies.

  9. put alot of hot sauce on top of it

  10. try to talk to your dog that it was disgusting

    or

    buy a new dog

  11. Change her dog food a dog that eat it's poo is missing something in her diet. Try a better quality food like BARF is the best diet a dog should be on.

  12. Make her eat slowly and put a few chunks of pineapple in her food dish if she eats slower and with the pineapple she has more time to digest and the pineapple makes her poo taste awful.

  13. Its actually good for them

but try giving her some treats or bones to keep her mind off it

  14. You can go to the pet store and they will give you a product to put on the stool

  15. Take her out for walks and pick it up right away when she is done taking a dump.

  16. Yes. when she goes spray Bitter Apple  on it. It's like dog reppelant.

  17. I'd steer clear of pedigree.  Check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com to get a look at what's really in dog food.  Pedigree has a lot of low quality ingredients and fillers.
