How can I make my dvd+rw drive burn to dvd-r disks?

i don't think is posible, the (+) or (-) is the way the disk is burn and i think that is the hardware not the software

Unless your drive has DVD-R burning capabilities, you can't. Although I can't say I've ever seen a burner that is strictly DVD+R/RW. Most drives put out in the last few years are DVD(plus/minus)R combo's.

Hi lilangelsarah23,

I find it hard to believe you have a drive that is +R only. It has become very difficult to find new devices that can only record to one of the formats. The DVD-R format has been in use since 1997, it has had a five-year lead on DVD+R. Almost all devices handle -R DVDs.

Give one a try. I don't think you will have to do a thing. I think it will work.
