How can I make my homemade soymilk have less beany taste?

I make homemade soymilk with a soyajoy soy milk maker. The machine works very well, but the soymilk has a beany sort of taste, something I'm sure has nothing to do with the machine. How can I remove some of the beany, bitter taste?
