  1. It needs nitrogen, it won't hurt the dog or kids. Put it on and water it in.

  2. Chicken p**p works wonders. Just water in it good. If you use it I would do one yard first, then the other. So the kids and dog can still play outside with out having to worry about them tracking chicken p**p into the house.

  3. lime or compost (old)

  4. I have used the organic fertilizer on a few yards I care for and they seem to work well. They are typically alfalfa based or come from chicken coops. Pretty much what you put on there is chicken p**p. It smells like a stockyard but not overwhelming.  Typically twice the price of a normal fertilizer but I've seen good results with it,

  5. www.jerrybaker.com has green up tonics you use to green up your lawn! He uses household products like coke and epsom salts and cayenne pepper in his recipes to use all over your yard for all reasons.

You can put cayenne pepper around plants where squirrels are digging and they won't come near it - put it in a bird feeder and they'll stay out......stuff like that - all organic!

He has books, a website, newsletters, and even a spot on PBS.

    check out his tonics!
