How can I make my lawn greener without chemicals?

I have a dog and small children and I want to use fertilizers but am scared the dog will get ill.

It needs nitrogen, it won't hurt the dog or kids. Put it on and water it in.

Chicken p**p works wonders. Just water in it good. If you use it I would do one yard first, then the other. So the kids and dog can still play outside with out having to worry about them tracking chicken p**p into the house.

I have used the organic fertilizer on a few yards I care for and they seem to work well. They are typically alfalfa based or come from chicken coops. Pretty much what you put on there is chicken p**p. It smells like a stockyard but not overwhelming.  Typically twice the price of a normal fertilizer but I've seen good results with it,

You can put cayenne pepper around plants where squirrels are digging and they won't come near it - put it in a bird feeder and they'll stay out......stuff like that - all organic!
