Question:

How can I make my skin tougher?

Particularly on my hands and feet. I'm asking as recently in Italy I had to walk across a pebbly beach (you know how it goes, you kinda wince with each step but get used to it) and my feet actually felt quite leathery after that, and they feel a lot firmer and stronger now so I was wondering if I could make the rest of my skin firmer. Are there any practical) things I can do to toughen up my skin? Cheers

  1. If you want to make your hands tougher, it helps to do a lot of manual labor. Or if you play guitar, after a while it wil toughen naturally. Pulling ropes would be a suggestion.

  2. Like said above, walk barefoot more often. Our feet are so soft because, well, we pamper them! Pedicures, soft insoles for shoes, extra thick socks... There's no wonder they hurt so much walking on tough surfaces!

As for your hands-them being soft is a good thing! Most people spend loads of money to help their hands feel soft. If you really want to get them tougher, try taking up a hobby that uses your hands a lot and they will naturally toughen up.

  3. walk bare foot more often
