I am VERY tired, but I just can't sleep.

I need something that works rather quickly.

I don't have sleeping pills here. So any suggestions.

Also, I have already took a warm shower and I am too tired to try to exercise.

  1. I have to have the TV on low volume and have a monotone program on like the history channel or a re-run of Law and Order. It lulls me to sleep. They say a glass of warm milk helps you fall asleep and sleep soundly.

Don't drink caffeine in any form at night before going to bed. If you do drink it, make it no later than 3:00 in the afternoon. Melatonin is supposed to be good to make you fall asleep, too. Reading, also helps some people get sleepy enough to fall asleep. Good luck because this can be a miserable time when you really want and need sleep.

  2. i have your same problem.

    its so freakin annoying.

honestly, i have no idea what works.

    warm milk doesnt help.

    dont listen to that.

or maybe your body could be different.

but it didnt work for me.

i just try to get comfortable and watch t.v. till i fall asleep.

just dont watch nothing to interesting, or you'll be tempted to watch the next episode.

TRUST ME, it happens to me all the time lol :)

  3. try drinking a glass of warm milk before bedtime, avoid soda and coffee 6 hours b4 bed, try reading or watch tv after dinner to make your eyes tired, dont take long naps at daytime, get a bit of physical activities but avoid too much few hours before bedtime and have a regular hour for sleep, if its 9 then try to go to bed every 9pm.make your bedroom a comfortable and conducive for sleeping only not for any activities like having tv set in it or reading material or working or study table, just a bed and a nice lightings, try also using lotion or bath with lavender or a scented candle w/ lavender in it.its so cool and soothing, i have tried it and it gives me a blissful sleep

  4. Just relax...

Melatonin is an over the counter supplement that raises your natural night time hormones, making you sleepy.

But the most important thing is to not think about sleeping, or anything that is concerning you.  Imagine a calm place, where you feel completely at ease and where everything is going your way.  Create a dream you would like to have before you even fall asleep ;-)

Do NOT keep a clock where you can easily see it.  This will only remind you of how long you've been awake.  Turn it away, and forget about time while you're daydreaming.  You have the rest of the night to fall asleep,so who cares about what time it is anyway?  And of course, make sure your as comfortable as you can.  This could mean getting a quiet fan for your room, or an extra pillow.  The expense will be worth it.

  5. Don't get on the computer because it can send signals to your brain telling you to stay awake. oh, and the more you stress about sleeping the harder it will b to fall asleep. Good Luck and God Bless : ) Sweet Dreams....

  6. drink warm milk or eat a banana (bananas are proven to contain a chemical that helps you relax and sleep better) if you don't like milk you can have some chamomile or cinammon tea instead, then light some soft scented candles and read a book in bed, just be sure to turn off the candles! Good luck.

  7. Exercise will wake you up.  Get into bed with all the lights off and get very comfortable.  Whatever you do, do not let your eyes close.  Keep them open.  Before you know it, you should be asleep.

  8. I used to have the same problem! But it depends on my sleeping position sometimes, try hugging something or whatever. I used to listen to music and it makes me fall asleep.

Drink milk, have a cookie, meditate, do relaxing/peaceful things.

Read a book if you're not too tired.

Close your eyes and think of "black" or "white"
