How can I make poison from Castor beans?

I have an interest in making castor bean poison. I saw it on the Discovery channel but I can't remember how they did it. I have a pound of castor beans I'm just dying to try to make poison with. Has anyone had sucess with this? I just want to try for my own education, not to actually USE the poison on anyone like my boss or anything. Or my neighbor whose dog barks all night. Or those anoying teenage boys that tear up my yard on their skateboards. No, I'd never hurt anyone, I just want to see if I can actually do it.

  1. In the United States, a person caught manufacturing or possessing ricin (the poison you are referring to) may be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.  Ricin is listed as a schedule 1 controlled substance.

Making ricin from Castor beans is a potentially dangerous process and may lead to the death of the person making it.  People can breathe in ricin mist or powder and be poisoned. Ricin can also get into water or food and then be swallowed.

It doesn't take much ricin to be harmed, either; perhaps just one milligram of ricin can kill an adult.  This is the amount that could sit on the head of a pin.

Even eating the castor beans is very dangerous. The potentially lethal doses reported for children and adults are three beans and eight beans respectively.  However, if the seed is ingested whole, there is a chance that it may pass through the gastrointestinal system without releasing its ricin.   If you have a necklace made from pierced castor bean "beads", you might get a rash where the castor bean is opened.  Death from ricin poisoning can take a week, and it involves a lot of internal bleeding and wet, runny p**p.  I do not recommend it.

As to your question of HOW to make it, the U.S. government does not want you to know that potent ricin or RCA can be made by purifying the proteins, then the powdered poison can contaminate food, beverages or shrapnel to cause death.

The seed-pulp left over from pressing for castor oil contains on average about 5% by weight of ricin. Since 0.2 mg of purified Ricin constitutes a fatal dose, this is a considerable amount of ricin.

In summary, I'm not going to tell you how to make the poison, I'm just going to give you a lot of tantalizing tidbits about it.  Remember, hardly anyone wants you to know how to make it.

  2. The result would be ricin and that particular substance has caused terror alerts around the world. If I were you I'd just press the beans and save the oil to cure constipation.

  3. I wonder if posts like these can be monitored and reported to authorities so we don't have another Virginia Tech type of thing happen- obviously someone here is not all there mentally...

  4. I'm with the F.B.I.  We know where you are and your going to prison for life you nutcase. That's Ricin so please make some and kill yourself.

  5. Just give someone Castor oil and they will think they have been poisoned!  It is the nastiest stuff!
