  1. I love those too! I did some research and found this site with a video that explains the steps. It seems really easy..

First -- You use filtered water since it's the purest and the cleanest.

Secondly, you boil it and you let it cool. After the water cools, you boil it a second time and let it cool again.

Lastly, you pour it into the ice cube tray and place it in your freezer and viola! Clear ice cubes.

Here's the video, have a look..

  2. You could filter the water and freeze it.

  3. It's time consuming.  You need to boil distilled water twice and pour it into trays when luke warm.

  4. I just saw this done on the Food Network, but it takes  alot of time. You have to buy distilled water and boil it. Turn it off and let it cool then boil it again. Cool. then pour it into your ice cube trays and freeze.

  5. pros vibrate the water as it freezes, it lets the impurites freeze out.  not easy to do at home though.  guessing the ice machines do it by using the vibration from the pumps and stuff... that humming is probably all thats needed.

as for doing it at home, it looks like using filtered or better yet, distilled water (as pure as you can get), and double-boiling it gets as close as you will get:
