  1. It depends on the amounts you're using, and you need lye and water as well.

Try buying a book about making soap, because there are a lot of steps and it is far too complicated for me to explain on the net. It can also be dangerous, so you need the proper equipment.

  2. check out this link

    http://www.millersoap.com/worksheet.html

    click Chris Mathes Recipe Template...

you can then choose which oils and the amounts of each you would like to use - it will calculate how much water and lye you need to make a balanced bar of soap. It also caluculates your soap batch size depending on the amounts of oils you use.

I've used this recipe calculator many times to adjust my soap batch sizes to fit my molds - they've all turn out with great success.

  3. why put oil in soup?  just adds calories and unneeded fat.

your meat broth has enough fat in it.

  4. I think she said soap - for washing in.

From the looks of things you are wanting one that moisturizes. Concider adding lanolin if you are not allergic.

Is a good site with a lot of information.

  5. Boil the lard and skim off the layer that rises to the top, keep repeating this step (adding the skimmed layer to a fresh pot of boiling water) until you've rendered it down enough.  Then you mix the fat with lye, I think.  But be careful, lye is very very toxic.

  6. The oils you have listed are good for soap making but for a well balanced recipe that cleanses as well as moisturizes, you might want to use coconut oil as well.

I'm afraid that I do not have a recipe that uses only the listed oils but do have many other recipes that make wonderful soaps.

A simple one is as follows:

Basic Vegetable Oil Soap with Castor Oil

    Coconut Oil      - 270 gr. / 9.524 oz. / 30%

    Palm Oil          - 270 gr. / 9.524 oz. / 30%

    Olive Oil           - 270 gr. / 9.524 oz. / 30%

    Castor Oil        - 90 gr. / 3.175 oz. /10%

    Distilled Water  - 326.07 gr. / 11.502 oz.

    Lye                  -125.041 gr. / 4.411 oz.

    Water as % of Oils = 36.23; Super Fat/Discount = 8%

    Soap qualities as per SoapCalc.

    Hardness 43

    Cleansing 20

    Condition 52

    Bubbly 29

    Creamy 32

Lard can be exchanged for the palm oil without having to re-calculate the lye amount. The sunflower or corn oil could be used to replace some or all of the olive oil as well.

  7. I made a wonderful soap yesterday with 8 ounces Lard, 8 ounces of olive oil, 8 ounces of canola oil. 7.9 ounces of water and 3.12 ounces of Lye.  One cup of finely ground oatmeal.

For scent which is optional. Cloves and Allspice.

    It smells like oatmeal cookies!

Do be careful.  Gloves, longsleeves, and safety glassed.  REMEMBER. "YOU LYE In water to stay cool".. that is what my Grandma always told me to remember what is the right way to start making soap. NEVER pour water in LYE.   Use cold water and common sense.  Stainless steel pots and old wooden spoons.  This makes about 12 nice bars.  Small batch to just get your feet wet..GOOD LUCK!
