I don't want her wearing a band, if possible- because it makes people look handicapped.

  1. So you'd rather have to buy new glasses than have her "look" handicapped.  Wow.  Because when I see people wearing sports bands in places where they are actually needed, like sporting events or amusement parks, I just think "there goes a pretty smart person".

  2. They have those long decorated strings and chains that people use for reading glasses, You can get them in many different colors and designs now. They attach to the glasses so if they fall off of her face, they just drop to her chest. Something like may work.

  3. let her wear them but then on rides make her take them off and keep them with a person who will not go on a ride to keep them safe...

or she can put them in a locker or in her pocket..

    ---good luck

  4. There is nothing wrong with having a disability and it's not a four-letter word.

If having a neck band is going to help keep the glasses safe and it is the best option, then vanity should not be the reason NOT to get them.

Another option, buy a new set of glasses. Your choice. She should be aware on how to care for them to the best of her abilities.

I have worn hearing aids and glasses ever since I was a young kid. I'm 27 years old now and I don't "feel" like I have disabilities.

Having glasses is very COMMON these days.
