How can I make the school get handicapped doors?

My daughter is 6 and has "Brittle Bone Syndrome" she breaks her bones really easy. The school has to many doors and she cannot function without these doors! Please HELP US!

  1. I would try to talk to with a human service agency in your town.  This way they can work with your childs school to help support your child's needs.

    Advocates fight for alot of things.


  2. By law, a public school district has to make its programs accessible.  Whether they provide ADA-compliant doors, or move classes to accessible locations, or provide your daughter with an aide to assist her, they have to ensure access.  Ask them how they intend to do that.

  3. By law the school has to. Every place should have handicap accessible walkways, doors etc.

    Who are you talking to? Go beyond the principal and take it up with the school board. If you don't get anywhere there go higher than that, and talk to the major.

    second, go public in your local paper

    if they will not do it on tehir own-file a discrimination complaint under the ADA and/or your state laws
