How can I make this bridesmaid dress work for me?!?

I am the maid of honor in my friends wedding, and her whole party is wearing these dresses. I, being a bigger girl, would have to buy the biggest size and squeeze into this spandex stress. I do not have a tiny waisted figure, and it's just not going to be flattering.

I tried to gently talk to her about this, and she said that she feels that this kind of dress would look best on me and that they always make spanx to wear to make your body look good.

Spanx can only do so much! How am I going to make this work? Please offer any tips you can. I'm more of a middle heavy girl and I'm just scared that I'm going to feel awful and uncomfortable. :(

Unless you were a twig no one would look good in that dress. I would suggest looking for girdles or something to wear underneath it that will flatten out your mid section. Don't do a crash diet between now and then like someone else suggested thats just stupid. Who would want leopard print bridesmaid dresses anyway? Thats just crazy!

Well, first of all, I am very disappointed in your friend for not taking your feelings into consideration. That was a Bridezilla moment on her part. If the wedding is a few months away, you can try supplmenting 2 of your meals with Slimfasts. That will give you a little confidence on "The Big Day". But, if the wedding is soon, I can only suggest finding the best slimmer you can. On the day of the wedding, just remember that everyone is looking at your friend, not you! Just wear a smile and act confident. You only have to wear this dress once, and then you can burn it...Good luck!

I can't imagine anyone feeling comfortable in that dress.

I have had to wear some pretty bad dresses - but yours takes the cake. My best advice is to wear it, and change straight after for the reception.

This may sound a bit strange, but you could buy two of the dresses, take them to a tailor, and have the dress fitted in a way that would make you feel more comfortable. The extra dress is for extra material. That way you could have it in a size that actually fits, and maybe have it looser.

Woah, I wouldnt worry how you will look in that because NO ONE will look good in those dresses.  Ive heard bridesmaid dresses are bad, but that is just hideous!
