It's going to be a very small private ceremony, and we're not honeymooning until March. I was just wondering what i can do to make it extra special. Any ideas?

Thank you

  1. aww that sounds so nice! Fake snow and a big christmas tree would be soooo nice, have little bits of holly for the end of the rows of chairs, create a little mini winter town on a table somewhere, candle light, log fire lol that last one could be hard to achieve lol have some garlands hanging up aswell with little xmas tree balls and tree cones on them. Have a gold and white or red and gold colour scheme lol

  2. I also would like a Christmas wedding so I have lots and lots of ideas!

Food & Drink - You could have a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings for your reception meal, or serve hot milk/hot chocolate, turkey & cranberry sandwiches and cinnamon biscuits if you aren't going for a full meal. We are also having Christmas Lindisfarne mead and Mulled Wine with cinnamon as our reception drinks.

Decoration - it depends on what your idea of Christmas is, you can have the winter white theme with lots of icicles and white fairy lights etc but I prefer the traditional red and green theme, the warmth of a venue with a Christmas tree, roaring fire and lots of candles and holly.

Favours - We have alot of young children in our families at the moment so we've decided to buy them each an individual gift instead of a favour and put it under the Christmas tree at the reception venue. The adults are receiving small glass baubles which are labelled with our names and the date of our wedding wrapped in little boxes which we are making ourselves.

Flowers - You can use Poinsettias, mistletoe, ivy and holly for your wedding bouquet

Dress for Ushers - We want to go for a traditional Victorian theme but instead of wearing tails, the men and wearing top hats, waistcosts and cravats, with black Cromby jackets and leather gloves.

Dress for Bridesmaids - I would like my young niece and 2 of my young cousins as my bridesmaids so they are each wearing a jewel coloured coat with round collar and big black buttons, one in green, one in red and one in gold, with little satin dresses underneath, black tights and little matching victorian boots with black buttons up them. We will ringlet their hair and put holly in and glitter.

Cake - I don't like Christmas cake but my partner does so we are going to have 2 tiered cake with plain sponge on the bottom tier and fruit cake on the top. We are also having a gingerbread house for the kids to eat as not many of them like cake!

Hope this helps - Thats all I can think of for now but I'm sure I have plenty more ideas if there's anything specific you were wondering about!

  3. Discuss with him how you both want to decorate the place.  Maybe there are ornaments that you can buy each year and make a collection over the years.  Plan a nice menu of things that you both like.  Cook together.  Compromise.

  4. the best yet, how many time have you married  lol
