How can I manually switch from directx 9 to directx 10?

I installed directx 10 on my windows xp and now I would like know how to switch back to direct x 9.

  1. I might be wrong, but DirectX 10 includes everything in 9.  if your graphics card doesnt support DirectX 10, then 9 will still be installed.


  2. Delete the following files from windows/system32:

    d3d10.dll

    d3dx10_33.dll

    d3dx10d_33.dll

    Nucleus.dll

    d3dx10.dll

    d3dx10d.dll

    dxgi.dll

    After that, install DirectX 9.0C and reboot.
