Question:

How can I mattify my skin without drying?

My skin is shiny, even when it's clean. It's just slick-textured. I have very mature skin (i'm 51) and sometimes too dry. Even powders don't keep the shine down for long. What product will erase the shine and moisturize too?

  1. try using bare escentials their line is great and you can pick up a starter kit for 50 bucks

  2. use a toner, they generally help, use a mattifying face mask 1-2 a week. and you an get tons of oil free moisturisers or mattifying moisturisers. also if you wear foundation you can get tons of oil free ones which help to stop shine, the mineral ones are brilliant for this and no need for powder

  3. Try the DHC skincare line.  They are great and work well.  They'll also send you free samples.  I dont' think they have stores - I think you can only order online.  Not sure though.

They offer a matte cream that controls shine ($28) and something called velvet skin coat ($20) which makes your foundation go on flawlessly. I LOVE this stuff.  And there skin care line is really good too. I use this but I use the Bare Escentuals foundation.  Anyhow, see links below.  Hope this helps!

  4. Philosophy's "The Present" clear foundation.  This is a wonderful product that gives you flawless skin and moisturizes as well.  Go to www.philosophy.com and search for "The Present".  You'll be amazed at the benefits of this product.  And it really delivers.  It is a bit pricey but a little goes a long way so one tube lasts a really long time.  I highly recommend it!
