How can I meet people in Paris?

I'm a single guy travelling alone.

The best places to meet people in Paris is at all the hot tourist places (Eiffel Tower, Musee du Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame de Paris etc.)  Especially if you're looking to meet tourists like yourself.  But even if you want to meet the locals, they are more likely to talk to you if they are visiting the above mentioned place.

Keep in mind that French are born romantics and are fond of meeting people in memorable places, if weather is great go to Parc du Champ de Mars, and mingle with sun bathers and it's a great place to strike a light conversation.  

In the evening visit Latin Quarter, the restaurants, bars and clubs are another great place to meet new people.  Once again there will be a lot of tourists like yourself, but the locals are plantiful as well.

Go to the Green Linnet near Hotel de Ville and chat to the Irish/English barmaid!

I agree with Al, but no need of puppy, just your accent will  be enough for french women ! lol

Go to nightclubs when you get there.  If you still have time though, you might be able to go to myspace.com and find some friends who live in Paris.
