How can I move a power car seat if the moter is dead?

the moter for my seat in my car is dead and the seat is all the way reclined. Can the seat be readjusted manually?

  1. only if you get down there and spin those gears by hand.  i've never looked, but there might be some s***w or bolt head you can use to adjust it manually.


  2. The only way I know is to take the seat out , unplug it, and take out that motor.

  3. Only if there is a handle on the side for the back part only. When the motor dies, that's it for moving up & down, forward or backward.  

  4. I'd make sure that the motor is indeed dead. It could be that it's simply not getting any power which means the problem is the switch or maybe a blown fuse. Electric motors are pretty simple devices and seldom fail without some sort of abuse, like an overvoltage.  

  5. get the d**n thing fixed

  6. maybe you can switch it with the passenger side good one..
