How can I move my iTunes purchases to another computer?

My iPod is synced to my dad's laptop and I'm trying to sync it to my computer. When I connected my iPod to my computer, it asked me if I wanted to Transfer Purchases to my computer. These were purchased on the laptop so naturally they aren't on my computer. I clicked Transfer Purchases and it transfered about 60 songs onto my computer. But something popped up that said that some purchases were not transfered because this computer is not authorized and it had instructions on how to Authorize the computer. I followed the steps and reconnected my iPod, but the same thing happened all over again. Is there something I'm doing wrong? HELP!
