How can I move to Mexico?

Question

I'm 20 years old and I'm planning to move to Mexico with my dad who got deported two years ago.. I have a passport and don't know if I have to have a visa also or other documents. And also how do I go about moving my stuff down there. I don't have a lot but can I take small furniture across the border. I will be living in Piedras Negras which is 5 minutes from the border. Please give me good advice and websites that will help.

It would be a big help to know all of your nationalities.

Where were you born and both of your parents?

Obviously your father is a Mexican national.

If both your parents are Mexican born and you were born in the U.S.A. then you are a Chicano and officially a duel national and will have no issues

Hey if your dad is Mexican you can be Mexican too, in which case you are entitled to every right a Mexican has. If you enter Mexico with a Mexican passport that's all you need.

I don't know what paperwork you have but here's what I did. When my kids were born in the US to me (Mexican mom) and husband (US national) I went to the nearest Mexican Consulate with my husband, my kids, two witnesses, photos,  their  American birth certificates with proper apostille and registered them Mexican. Now they have Mexican birth certificates and that means Mexican citizenship. Soon I will get them Mexican passports too.

If you haven't been registered as a Mexican yet ask your dad to help you do this. Call your nearest Mexican consulate or you can also do it on the Mexican side. Good luck!

You will have both nationalities, you do not lose your American citizenship by taking the Mexican one.

Also if you enter Mexico with just your American passport the longest you can stay is six months.
