How can I naturally dye dark brown hair to red?

My hair is natural dark brown color, but when the light hits a certain way it looks very reddish. Is there anything I could do to keep the red color or dye it red without using a hair dye? I don't wanna use any hair-dyes, not even henna. Is there any way...

  1. yeahh i have the same problem as you also, like some parts of my hair are red, but i want it all over not just some parts.. i tried putting lemon juice on my hair

and sitting out in the sun, and i can tell you it works, but it will take some time, as its for people with lighter hair than dark hair..

  2. ughh no, you can get hair dye and do it and its not that bad for your hair, i did mine blonde from dark brown and love it

  3. well its not really like dyeing your hair its like lightening it so what you need to do is get a couple lemons and one of those spray bottle thingies and mix the lemon juice with a little bit of water so you just spray it all over your hair and go out on the sun for a while until it gets the tone you want ...............................hope it helps you out

  4. I'm not a professional but I'm pretty sure the only way to change your hair color drastically is to  dye or lighten it. Maybe some time in the sun will work for you because it sounds like the red in your hair is natural highlights and highlights come out in the sun and your hair becomes a bit lighter. I'm a natural red head and its sorta dark in the winter but becomes almost gold in the summer.
