How can I obtain a construction job?

okay so I am female 21 who wants to do construction but I want to learn as I go not go to school I need money now I have a son to support I like home improvement things like demolition and rebuilding, painting landscaping ect but I have no experience in these fields I don't mind hard work or getting dirty but I am still a girl and I can hold my own once I'm on the team also I am in central valley california

  1. I have no idea what the union situation in california is, but if you were in the midwest, serious and willing to make the long term commitment, I would point you towards the union hall.  The carpenters and millwrights union, IBEW, pipefitters, etc. all have great apprentice programs.  

    I'd start there.
