How can I obtain a copy of my 2006 tax forms?

I need my 2006 w-2, 1040 and nys tax files and for the life of me I cannnot find them. irs.gov only gives me the empty forms even when I select previous years. I try other sites however they say I have to pay. Is this true?

You can obtain your IRS issued W-2s, 1040s etc. in 1-2 business days from Accuverify.com   These will be your federal forms.  If you need state info contact your state's dept. of revenue.

Download Form 4506-T from the IRS website, use form to request a "Return Transcript"  (free of charge) the transcript provide all the information you reported on your tax return. Transcript will be send to you in about 17days.

Or if you need the actual copy of your tax return with w2 then download form 4506 and mail to appropriate address and include the charge of $39.00. IRS will send you a copy of your return in 30-60 days.

For the transcript you can also contact IRS at 1-800-829-1040 and they may even be able to fax it to you.

Or visit you local IRS office to obtain a transcript.
