I know that i can order it on line and just go the hall of records or just go back to the hospital, but I no longer live in the same state and was wondering if there is another way that i can still get one from the state that I currently live in??

  1. you need to go to down to your county court house to records dept with two forms of Id one a pic and one you social security card and it usually cost about 20 to 30 dollars

  2. Contact the county you were born in's dept. of vital records.  They will send you a copy for about 12 bucks.

  3. Official vital statistic records (birth, marriage, death, etc.) are kept by the state in which it happened except for MA where the city has the official records. You have to order the certificate from the state in which you were born. My brother had to get a passport and the Boston Passport Agency wouldn't take a city long form birth certificate! He had to get one from the state which is a record of the original held by the city so if you were born in MA... Otherwise get one from the state! City issued birth certificates are not always allowed! And get a "long form birth certificate" if the state has both long and short forms.

  4. The state you currently live in will not have the records - you must order it from the county you were born in for most states.
