How can I open my window without the chime going off?

I have a First Alert Professional fa260 and i can't turn it off so i want to know if there's a way that i can make the chime bell not go off while opening the window? I heard something about wrapping tin foil or putting a magnet next to the sensor on the window would that work?

Why can't you turn it off?  Can you unplug or take the battery out temporarily?  Or turn off the breaker that controls the alarm?

r u trying  2 break in or break out?  just cut the line if Ur inside if not call first alert professionals Im sure they can help !!!

It would work,but you are defeating the purpose of the alarm. ou put a piece of foil on the magnet of the window and it will stop the flow of power to the magnet. Be careful not to overload the circuit or you're entire alarm will not work.
