I've been for about 20 lessons, but I'm still useless on the road because I go into a mild panic every time I touch a steering wheel, any suggestions on how I can overcome this?

  1. I had a fear of driving and to be honest, I still have a little bit. But in my case I came from the society where there wasn't a need to drive as we have a good public system. I had 4 lessons of driving and my husband was trying to teach me a few times. But even after a year I am not confident but I just force myself to drive, I tell myself to be calm and be attentive and I have notice the more I drive, the less fear I have.

  2. It is good to ask the public in a problem like this I

I suggest you pray a lot and don't drive when feel like that There is someone above all things you can over come all fears by giving your sole to Jesus Christ no one else will help you with that but him

  3. IMO you could use a few therapy sessions.  Think about what makes you afraid to drive.  Is it the fear of getting into a accident?  Do you not trust your skills as a driver?  Whatever the cause, immersion therapy could help you.  This is where the therapist is there in the car with you to talk you through your anxieties, and you start out maybe just sitting in the car and explaining how you feel.  With each session, the amount of time spent on the time is increased until you overcome your fear.  This is now the preferred treatment for many phobias, and is said to work very well in 10-20 sessions.
