A couple of months ago me and family were walking our family dog in the wood. Hes a springer spaniel and loves going in and out the bushes. I've always been a bit scared of him going in the bushes but he's always come back. This time my mum and dad let him run into the woods and bushes. When we called his name he didn't come back. I began to panic and i walked off to try and find him. My dad climbed up the steep hill to try and find the dog as he has ran up the hill. I ran off to look and then i heard my mum shout for me, just before she shouted i shouted the dogs name, Taz. I ran back to mum thinking she had found him. They hadn't found him though she just wanted to make sure i was ok. As i walked back in the direction i was looking in, i saw my dog lead on the floor wimpering. I ran to him and he has a mouthful of mud, his face was covered in mud and he had a cut paw. He had been missing for about 15 minutes. We think he must of got lost but when i found him he was so happy to see me his was l*****g me and wouldn't leave my side. I now have a fear of taking him for a walk and letting him off the lead. I will only let him off the lead if its a open space and im with my dad. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get over this fear. Im 13 years old.

  1. Keep him on his leash.  All your worries will be gone.

If your yard is fenced in, he can run freely there.

There are also micro chips you can have put on your dog so if he becomes missing, it will be easier to find him.

Keep your dog safe.  Good Luck.
