  1. Leave it in gear and turn the wheels so the car will role back against the curb

  2. cut wheel sharp before turning off, that will help.

  3. You need to have your emergency/parking brake adjusted, it's not doing what it is supposed to do.  And, keep the car in a forward gear (if a manual transmission) or in park if an automatic.  Turn the wheel so that the front tires are either facing towards the curb (if parked facing a downhill slope) or turn them so that the rear of the front tires are facing the curb (if parked facing uphill).  This is called curbing the tires.  If your car ever moved it would immediately hit the curb, hopefully preventing it from rolling down the entire hill.

    Get that brake fixed though.

  4. For an auto trans put it in park, set the handbrake and turn the wheels toward the curb.

For an standard  trans put it in first gear, set the handbrake and turn the wheels toward the curb.

If the vehicle still rolls, then you need to have the vehicle looked at by a mechanic because you definitely have something wrong.

  5. 1. Check rear brakes (replace if needed)

    2. adjust your parking brake, fix brake cable, and do it soon.

  6. If you drive a manual transmission make sure it's in gear when you shut it off. If it's an automatic make sure it's in park. If you already do this there must be something wrong with your parking cable or possibly the brakes. If that's the case try backing into your parking spot so that the front of your car is facing downhill. That might work, but you should still check out your brakes, or have someone else check them out. Good luck.

  7. Turn the wheels so you car will hit the curb if it moves.  Your parking brake needs to be repaired.
