How can I pay for my education??

Question

I want to study abroad but it cost around $15,000. I would need to take out a loan and have my parents go guarantor for me. But they have said that they can not afford to pay back that money for me because they are still paying off their mortgage for the next 7 years. How can I get this money to study abroad? Is there any other way besides loans that I could get? I can't get a job because the money I would make from it isn't near enough what I need. Please help?

Ask relatives, start a charity, if nothing works I dont know what you could do. I'm sorry.

Why can't you get a student loan? You are going to participate in school while you are there?  You can ask for that amount or more in private loans and pay back after school. Private loans generally have higher interest rates and it accrues when it is in deferment but you shouldn't let not having money stop you.  I WOULD personally look for cheaper places.  $15,000 is way to much for a semester or a year.  I spent a year in BA, Argentina, for less than $4000.  Eating out most nights and travelling around.  You will have to pay it back so remember that.

Your parents being guarantor - they won't have to pay anything unless you don't pay the loan back yourself after you finished studying. They just guarantee that if you don't pay back the loan, they will.

hi tata, depending on what country you are in... you may look for scholarship from your country or apply for commonwealth scholarship if you r or ur country  is eligable. second option is take loan from a bank and once you get the laon study in abroad country and work(part time) as well ... some universities pay scholarship if you work for them in the library etc..
