I graduated high school in 2003, and form there i went to college....THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE!!! But that was the problem...i had too much fun...and wound up flunking out!! (so embarrassing to admitt, but its the truth) any way, last night was my graduating class graduated...of corse i didnt go, cuz i felt like such a loser....back then, i was some dumb kid not ready for the responsibility of being on my own, and getting my work done....NOW, im almost 23, ive had a great job for the past 2 years...and im so ready to go back to school...the only issue is that i have no MONEY!! I work for a bank and i see sooo many 'older' people with $100,000 or more and they do nothing with it...and then when i try to save money for school...some crazy trgedy happens and i have to spend it on whatever the problem is....AHHHHHHHHHH its sooo frustrating...what can i do to get out of this endless circle? How do i pay back the $2800 I owe the school...and then come up with an extra $3000 for the semiester??

  1. Choices:

--Get a scholarship, many available for "disadvantaged" without any skills, tutoring is also available to improve your grammar, spelling and punctuation.

--Check with any of your wealthy relatives, ask for a loan at low interest.

--check with your employer for financial aid, many employers will do a "matching" thing, or pay for your tuition, if you continue to work for them.

-- Go to school part-time, while working.  I spent 6 years going to school part-time and working full-time job, and part-time job too, to pay for my degrees.

    Finally, when all else fails.

-- Join the military, and get schooling free in the military. You can be trained in jobs that will pay big bucks after you get out.

Not every good job requires a full four-year degree. There are plenty of college graduates out of work.

  2. Can you work out a payment plan with the school?  Have you applied for financial aid to see if you can get enough to cover the previous balance as well as tuition?  Considered Private Loans?

Start with the FAFSA.  If the balance you owe the school is reported on your NSLDS, you will need to get that resolved before your eligibility can be valid to receive aid.  If it is not, then you should be able to take the current balance and roll that into your tuition.

Otherwise, start making payments on a regular basis until you have cleared the balance, and apply for aid again.

    Good Luck -
