  1. "Right left right left" is for four-step approach, and you do have other options (3-step and 5-step approach) if you are getting used to "left foot first". Most professional outside hitters in US Women's Olympic Team were/are actually running 5-step approach.

It should be easier for you to adjust to 3-step or 5-step, depending on how far you are away from the take-off spot.

I would recommend that you do 5-step approach (left--right--left--right-left) when serve receive, and 3-step (left--right-left) during regular rally or when you come back from blocking.

  2. first you start off w/ your knees slightly bent

    (if you are right handed)

you will take a medium step with your left leg. (kind of falll into the step) and let your arms hang down in front of you

as you make the quick right left steps bring your arms back as far as they can go.

then lift your body up with both arms. find the ball. and swing.

since you have had your knees bent, and your arms way back then you can get at least 2-4 inches added on to what you are currently jumping.

    other things:

    1. The quicker your approach the more momentum you will have to jump higher and swinger harder.

    2. Make sure you follow through your swing and snap your wrist.

    3. Bring your other arm down straight when you swing, so it doesn't twist your body around.

    4. Before you swing arch your body back so that you are using your core and more of your body for power in your swing

i gave this advice to someone else before. but it works for you too

  3. the easiest thing i can think of is just make sure u ALWAYS have ur rite foot forward when ur at th attack line...its easy for me cuz im setter and u wanna have ur rite foot forward

  4. i dont know

i usually watch the games to se girls in lycra shorts

  5. Practice more. Success is 1% talent and 99% hardwork. You don't learn from success you learn from failure. And don't give up. More Power

  6. At your house, mark off a 10 foot line.  Practice at your house.  Do at least 100 approaches a day.  Do the approach, hustle back to your starting point.  Do the approach.  I would try to do 10 approaches, take a minute off, do 10 and so on.

Since you are doing the 4 step approach, try standing on your left foot and keeping your right foot in the air.  You will have a lot of trouble stepping with your left foot first when it is the only foot on the ground.

  7. Keep practicing your awesome Volleyball approach.  Build up both your upper body strength and lower body strength, and you will be fine.

    GO GET 'EM, TIGER!!!!!

  8. When I approach (and I do the same thing but because i'm left handed and hit right handed.. haha) I take a little hop step with my left and then take my big RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT..I just start a little farther back.

Make sure to incorporate your arm motions with your steps (up back up hit)  The more you practice, the harder you will hit.

AND DON'T FORGET TO FLICK YOUR WRIST!!!! =0)
