How can I persuade my mom to let me buy a guitar?

lol i have 7 guitars, which some i bought at garage sales. i don't think your mom doesn't want you to express your inner musician, but is worried about how much money a guitar would cost. since its summer you could drive around looking for garage sales. and normally or if your lucky you might find a guitar and amp for extremely cheep! i bought a guitar and amp for 30 dollars at a garage sale once. looked it up on ebay and if i were to buy them both together it would of been over 500 dollars! insanity i tell you, insanity.

so try garage sales, or if a music store is going out of business, or ask a friend if they wanna sell there guitar to you.

and if your mom just doesnt want you having a guitar, then tell her that youll pay for it, or youll work to pay it off. anything you think she would bite for to consider buying you one!

Come up with the money yourself - this will show her you're responsible, and you'll have the satisfaction of doing something on your own and getting what you want too.

Lol I had the same problem when I was 12.... The trick is to convince her you will practice an hour a day, then to actualy DO it. As for the convincing part, it really depends on your financial situation so I can't really help you.

buy a used guitar

acoustics are good and if its in your price range, get an electric acoustic

you can play with or without an amp.
