How can I persuade my parents into buying me a new phone?

I have a crappy razr v3m and it is almost toally dead. It freezes and goes the a white screen or it is workable but the screen is messed up.

My birthday is coming up and I need one badly. My contract is up and they will not get me one. How do I persuade them into getting a new one?

If you want it really badly say that you will work for it by doing extra chores in the house, and say that it can be your one and only birthday gift.

How old are you turning? Mobiles last a while so they probably dont think you have looked after what you have got, if you cant get a job to buy yourself one then you dont need one yet.

You need more than cheap excuse to get their attention.

Explain to them they have the option of cellular that allows home computer to track cel' movement around the planet; how fast you go from minute to minute; keeps a record of all previous travels; provides maps with addresses of all stops; records source of all calls received or outbound; allows them to deny reader selected contact if they don't like any third party associations; and even having ability to interrupt any

communication in-progress so they can yell at you.  

These features argue you should get that kind of cellular more

than not having any of these supervision controls AND being

hit on for one hundred dollars for additional pain.

tell them that it be easier for them to get a hold of you if needed.

it can save you in an emergency.

go with a cheaper phone and cheaper plan and tell them it would cost them less than the old one did. also suggest that you'll help them pay for it.

Make a list of all the reasons why you really need one and say how it will benefit them as well.

Try to hide there phone and see if they ask for u to lend them there phone, and they can notice how messed up it is, then you can also browse for the phone that you want but with good plans and deals, and approach them by the financiall way since they probably wont change it thinking how much it costs a new one.

Try finding out first the reason to way they wont want to buy you one and then approach turn the negetive reason to a positive one, like oh no it's to much money, yeah but i've been browsing and found really good deals like... or but you spend so many minutes, yeah but probably this other company is better, they can't say you don't need one or that that still works good.

And remind them about your birthday that, that's what you really want and it's necessary so you can be in contact with them.

Have you actually shown your parents how the phone you have now is malfunctioning? If not, do so and let them know that when you have a working phone, they can get in touch w/ you easier.

If there is a paticular phone that you are wanting and it is kinda expensive...that may be why they don't want to get it for you. What I would do is show a little responsibility and tell them.... you know mom and dad my birthday is coming up and this is what I want for my birthday. Tell them that the phone isn't working properly and you need a new phone, so what you are willing to do is pay for part of the phone (with whatever allowance you get) and they can pay for the rest of it. This will show them responsibilty and I think they will be much more willing to help you out. Good luck!

save money and get it yourself! that's what i did. then they can't take it away [: haha, but seriously saving your money and then convincing them is a good way. or if you really don't want to save then pull the, "All I want is a new phone for my birthday"

well in my case i turned in two of my old phones to the phone shop and they gave me a new one. If your parents arent willing to buy u a new one because of the price, try looking for another old phone and try trading it

if its insured just drop it in the lake or throw it into the woods. then you get a new one free.  otherwise hope they buy you one and hint at as much as you can but if that fails you can always buy a used or new replacement phone on ebay for less than 30 dollars.

or even better, do some online shopping and find some good deals you can show your parents.

tell them it will be your birthday present, and get one of the free phones that come with plans if you re-new it. those phones aren't exactly the greatest but its mostly just the sound... or you could save up for a new one....or you could pretend you phone is dead and that you need one.
