Question:

How can I petition this grade?

All but one of my instructors gave me an extension to complete their courses. (This are distance learning courses which are done outside of the classroom, but not online) Originally I had asked for shorter extensions but two of the teachers insisted that I take a month extension, which I did. The official policy states that each student can be allowed up to one year after to complete the course, which they will have an incomplete. When I tried asking the third instructor for an additional extension, he rejected it stating that his policy was to only give one. I didn't know about his policy (he recently replaced the former instructor over the summer) and therefore told me that I was not given any further time.

I emailed him back, politely stating that while I understood his point, my other instructors had insisted that I take more time to complete their classes. He didn't respond back and instead gave me an F, and I have more than half the class completed and I had already arranged to take the final next week! I think this is unfair. How can I petition this grade? I have all of the assignments done and have already studied to take the final exam. What can I do? Who should I talk to in order to resolve this? I don't want an F!

  1. May be this site can help you

    http://www.sgpak.com

  2. I would say talk to your Dean or Counselor first.  More help could probably be provided if you gave what school you go to as each school and state is probably different.  If you gave this info perhaps somebody could provide numbers and emails you could contact.
