How can I pick a good camera?

I've been browsing cameras online and looking at the different effects and descriptions but they all seem the same to me.

What are neutral, sepia, natural, high color, low color, etc special effects on a camera??

[Example: black and white, color]

Here are some of my choices:

Please, if you have time, take the time to look through the descriptions and give me your opinion on which is best

Thanks!

  1. If you want my opinion, ignore all those stupid effects.  They have nothing to do with photography.  I'd focus on a camera that takes good pictures.  You can mess with the pictures in Photoshop later.

Those cameras are all very low end.  Even if I owned all of them, I probably wouldn't bother to use them.
