  1. HAHA! I had the same delemma last year for my twin sis and I, sooooo.... we improvised lol. We did a little bit of everything. 1) set up a fire pit w/ camp chairs 2) swimming pool 2) cake fight 3) water balloons 4) volley ball 5) basketball 6) soccer 7) hillbilly golf 8) anything that anyone suggests tell them to bring music they like and ask for their fav snacks, at least that is what we did good luck and happy early birthday!!! :) PARTY!!!!!

  2. Well best bet for food, is barbecue!! Its usually really reasonable and really easy to maintain and you can still socialize if you are the one grilling or its easy to hand over to someone else, and usually most people know how to work a grill.  For drinks just get  soda, its the easiest thing, maybe to make it fun have floats.. its nice on a hot day and its a desert as well as a drink.  For music, its best bet to get top 40 hits of the last 6 months, as well as throw in some songs that never go out, and that's always great to sing and dance too.

If your having a pretty big amount of people with guys and gals you may want to provide somewhere for people to dance.

If your party start or continues into the evening, gets some cool lightning going on, it will really bring atmosphere to the whole place, Best bet is laterns, Christmas lights, strobe, disco ball, that kind of thing, but light your backyard well, it usually always works for getting people in a party mood.

If your having a bunch of table, get table cloths, it will unite all the tables, and depending on the colors you choose for them or the design it will distinguished the difference between just a good old time in your backyard and a partying it up time.

Make sure to have a banner saying Happy Birthday, just because you maybe the one decorating doesn't mean it shouldn't be there.

The best bet to really figure out how you want to display everything is to come up with a theme, it doesn't have to be childish in anyway, because for the most part every big party usually has a theme. Try to make your theme unique, as well as try to pick a color scheme and decorations that go along with it.

Try not to set to many have to play games, because sometimes depending on the crowd, alot of ppl may not be into it. Although if you are pretty sure they would all go for it, have games.. and they can be cheesy, but make sure they don't single any one person out in a negative way, you don't want drama at your bash. The best bet if you have a lot of people have games where you can make teams, and maybe ever have different colored arm bands made with scraps material to determine each team. It will bring everyone together, and give people lots to talk about after.

I hope this helped, I have planned a lot of my own parties, so I have a general idea of what makes a good party.

I hope you have a great B.day party!!

  3. Why not set up a scavenger hunt with clues, etc.  Have a few prizes for the winners.  You can pair off your guests and let them go.  Follow up with a bonfire, marshmallows, smores, etc.  Don't forget cake and lots of music!  Good luck and have a great party!
