  1. Buy 10,000 seeds.

  2. That is starting out pretty big.  I suggest forming a group of volunteer

First talk to city concil about the organization of volunteers you want to form. Get them to let you and your voluniteers plant trees around town and in parks. Soon you will have lots of trees planted.

Remember: Every little thing you do helps make this world a better place.

  3. Logging companies replant trees by the thousands all the time.  How big are the trees you want to plant?  Little short seedlings or bigger trees several feet tall?

If this is a charity project you might want to ask for help from the local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in your area or from some of the Veterans groups, they do this sort of stuff all the time!   There might be contractors or landscapers who will volunteer their time for this project - if it is a charity or for the public good.

If it is for your own personal use then hire a landscaper.

Loggers do this type of planting all the time, that is why America has more trees now than 100 years ago!

    Good luck.

  4. The best way is to go out in autumn and collect the seeds yourself.  Try your local forestry comission for planting tubes - or you could develop your own. Each tube is filled with sandy compost, and the seeds are germinated first then planted in the tube. After a few months - when the seedlings produce roots through the tube, they can be planted with just a stake or fork in suitable ground. The hard part is finding areas to do this. Planting larger trees is usually more expensive, and many don't grow straight.

  5. The Arbor Day Foundation does this. I'd suggest starting with the where since that's a biggie - who will let you plant on their land.  Your city or county park system may welcome the help or they may really not since they have to maintain them. The cost will depend on the species you chose and the maturity of the tree.

  6. cities and counties typically have tree planting programs, and there are a ton of volunteers doing much of the physical work, with donations from non-profits and such.  try your local govts

  7. I have summaries of several large-scale tree-planting programs here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Trees-For-the-Wo... (Scroll down a little - the first section talks about why tree planting is important, and I assume you already know.)
