How can I play Sims 2?

I was wondering how you can play sims 2. My dad deleted the file and the desktop shortcut. Is there anyway to restore it? The file and icon are not in the recycle bin. If it can't be restored how can I save my files. I have a lot of cool people and I don't want to delete them. Please answer.

If your EA Games file in My Documents has the Neighborhoods, SavedSims and Downloads files intact (the last one if you have downloaded custom content into the game) then you have not lost any of your personal game data.

Go to Computer - Program Files and see if the EA Games folder is still there (it is possible your dad just deleted the desktop and programs shortcuts). If all is there you can just launch from there and/or create another shortcut. However, if the folder is not there then you have to reinstall the game and possible expansions.

Remember to back up your game data on a separate disk/hard-drive once in a while to ensure you won't lose your long played families even if the computer had a sudden meltdown.
