I have the latest JVC GZ HD3 film camera, which records TOD files (high digital resolution). The only way to play these TOD files, without quality loss is through the camera. I don't want to convert the files (because of quality loss), I don't want to rename them to mpg format, I only want to be able to play them as they are, without converting them (too much to ask JVC!!)

  1. I have the JVC GZ HD7 model and I'm having the same problem as you. I've been searching all over the web for a program that would play this format but no luck, the only way to play it is editing the video with the software that came with the camera but once you finish editing it it will automaticly convert it to mpeg format. The only way you can watch the video without quality loss is connecting the camera directly to your LCD the way that I do, for that you'll need the HDMI Cable. I have a Sony Bravia I don't know if your tv has the HDMI port. One more option, buy the JVC CU-VD40 HD Station DVD Burner for GZ-HD7 HD3.
