How can I play audio from my digital voice recorder and have it record on my laptop? There's no RCA jack.?

I have a cord that can connect the audio out jack on the digital voice recorder to the audio on port on my laptop. Is there a free (or really cheap) software out there that can record the audio as it is being played? I have all sorts of important audio files and I want to keep them. THANKS for the help!

  1. start> programs> accessories> sound recorder

    play the hand held recorder near the computer microphone.


  2. The laptop has no audio in except the mic input. You can't input and audio to that port. May be you can get MP3 recorder(with a USB port) if you are not particular with the voice quality. Play that voice and record to the MP3 recorder. Transfer the recorded voice to your laptop using USB.
