I have the 1/8" cable plugged into the line in port. I need an application that will take the audio from the line in port to the pc speakers.

  1. You shouldn´t need a separate application to play the mp3 player through your speakers. If you open up your audio controls, using the speaker icon on the taskbar, select options from the top and select properties. The new window will give you the option of displaying additional audio controls by checking the boxes. If you check the audio in box, it will add that to the control window, and you will probably find that it is turned down or muted. Adjust it to the proper levels and your MP3 player should go straight through the speakers. Hope this helps.

  2. Confused. Aren't the MP3s on your PC already? If not, connect your MP3 player to the PC and upload them.
