How can I play my Sims Deluxe Version on the PC? Please read details!?

I put in the first disc, entered the code, and installed it fully. Then it said to enter disc 2 and click OK after you put disc 2 in. I ejected disc 1 and put in disc 2. After a couple more minutes, the whole Sims screen closed. Did it finish installing? If it did finish installing, how do I play it? The best answer should be thorough and informative, please. ^_^

i dunno about the double deluxe version, but my sims 2 came with four discs. if yours did too, and it stopped after disc 2, not it's not finished. i know that my version had a matching game, and each time that i've installed the game, i HAD to play the matching game, otherwise it wouldn't install properly (it might be just my computer being stupid, but it might work for you too).

i know that most games will literally say "installation complete" when they're done. if that didn't pop up, that's a good sign that it's not finished too. before you try installing again, check and see if there are any file folders for the game on your computer (just do a search and search for "sims 2") and delete them. that way it doesn't take up any more space and you computer doesn't get confused when it tries to make the same folder.

when you have installed the game properly, insert the disc that it asks for (it's generally the first disc that you play with), and it should launch the game from there.

Once you have successfully installed the game, it will ask you if you want a short-cut on your desk top.  If you say yes, all you will need to do to play is make sure you have disk 1 in your disk drive, and double click on the Sims2 icon on your desktop.

The Component Error means that there was a problem copying the info from the disk to your computer.  See the EA tech answer below.
