Question:

How can I play video from my PC to my TV?

I was thinking about hooking it up through my X-Box 360 but I don't want to buy the expensive Window Media Center in order to do it.

I was also thinking about running a S-video cable to it but I would have to buy a very long one, and I don't think they make one that long.

I built my own PC. It's running Windows Vista Business Version.

It has the following video card:

Anybody have any ideas on how I might be able to do this?

  1. Windows Media Center comes with certain versions of Vista. Home Premium and Ultimate.

Windows XP Media Center Edition also has it.

  2. You just need an S-Video cable. I had one that was about 30ft. You can find em longer too. You can get them at Best Buy or any electronics store for around $15-20, especially if you look in their returns bin. They have them there for cheap. It plugs into your computer/laptops ps-2 connection & to the one in the back of your tv. For audio you just need a cable that has the regular earphone jack on one side and that splits into the red & white(or yellow) audio jack on the other side. This will plug into almost any stereo or tv.

  3. There are quite a few different ways to do this.

If you have S-video input on your monitor and output on your computer, you could just hook it up that way.

I would need more information on the computer to answer this accurately.

  4. If the TV is newer, you can hook your pc to it through the monitor cord.
