I have a guitar with what is described as "Gold Die-Cast" tuning heads. They are looking very tarnished so I used some silvo on the back out of one in an out of view area and it changed from gold into a silver colour. I understand silvo is just a polish and doesnt actually contain any silver in it, so Im guessing these "Gold" tuning heads are plated gold. Is there a way to polish a tarnished gold/brass looking plated metal without removing the plating on the rest of the tuning heads? Also, I dont suppose there is a way anybody knows of where I can reapply a brass/gold colour to the part of the tuning head that now looks silver?
