  1. You can throw a ball  against a brick wall to work on ground balls. Gradually work yourself as close to wall as you can to improve your reaction time and hand-eye coordination.  You can buy a batting tee and a net to work on making contact and hitting.

You can also ask around at school and find out other kids that are going to try out for the team and get together with them. Look around your neighborhood too, there may be older boys or even men that would be willing to help you out and work out with you. I would be willing to throw the ball with a kid that wanted to play and maybe go the the batting cages.

I wish you luck and hope some of these suggestions help, baseball is a great game and I know you will have fun playing.

  2. Tees are a great way to learn to place the ball but depending on your age usually i would say the batting cages hey Practice is great but work on a conditioning plan because if you make JV and even at the tryout there will be lots of running.

  3. A good way to practice fielding by yourself is to throw a ball off a wall(preferably outside) and field it off a hop.  Another good solo practice tip is to take some chalk and draw a strike zone on a wall(also outside) and practice pitching.  You can also practice your swing by hitting off a tee.

I hope these few tips help you out.

  4. throw the ball against a wall or go hit in the batting cages

  5. If you can just swing a bat and video tape it if you can to see the mechanic problems. Try to keep it short. Batting cages and a tee could also help. If you can find kind of a bouncier ball than a baseball to bounce of a wall and field. Also if you do sprints to and run the bases practiceing. You will get faster and get better baserunning skills. Maybe try something like working on your arm and speed by maybe throwing the ball far and sprinting to it and keep going. Also one thing i did was learn to juggle to help with hand eye cooridination. It actually helps. Table tennis would also be good. Also if you have a ball return you can work on pitching and i have a ball return and to help with reaction i would stand a distance and throw the ball hard and try to catch/field it and keep getting closer.

  6. with a tee. or go to the batting cages

  7. Use a towel in your hand and go through your mechanics, breaking it down into the smaller drills to work on each phase.  The towel allows you to get a lot of reps in with minimal stress on the arm.  Also, for hitting or pitching, go thru the pitching or swing mechanics in front of a mirror, with no ball, just preactice swings or throws with a towel.  Great way to see what is going on, in the mirror.

  8. what i like to do when i have no one to practice with i get a golf ball and throw it against a wall to practice fielding.i use a golf ball because it goes faster than a baseball or tennis ball.or i run around the diamond for speed.and ill go to to the batting cages for batting practice.

  9. A tee is a great way to work on your swing. So are the batting cages.

Try bouncing a tennis ball against a wall to practice the fundamentals of fielding. You can practice moving side to side, using two hands, looking the ball into your glove etc.

Run the bases by yourself. You can build speed and quickness in that way.

  10. Batting Cages is the best idea for alone time. Bring about 20 dollars for the batting cages and pick your speed and you'll improve. My son hit Slow Pitch and he was getting better so we changed to 40mph and he is hitting that really good.

  11. Go to a batting cage. If your a pitcher then throw against a wall. Fielding cannot be practiced alone though.
