My mom brought me back this really cool takeaway bag from london and I'd love to turn it into a lunch bag that I could use every day. Is there someway that I could preserve a brown paper lunch bag so I can keep it a long time?

  1. Maybe get some laminating sheets laminate it and just dont do anything harmful to it like dont wrinkle it or anything it will be fine. Thank you for conserving paper bags. : )

  2. What a neat idea! Buy some Map Sealant. It brushes on with a sponge applicator. It waterproofs and protects, yet allows flexibility.

  3. Nope, if you want it for a long time you can't use it. If you want to keep it as a souvenir, vacuum seal it or place it in a big ziplock bag, it is either one way or the other.

  4. you may find this a little weird, but if you take candle wax ,{shavings off of an old candle}and put them on the paper bag. cover with wax paper, and then iron. use small shavings , cuz the wax will spread . also , put another bag of the same size inside of your paper bag for more thickness and protection. and put a box inside , just a size smaller than your bag, this will let your bag dry correctly, and the insides will not stick together.

after the wax forms a thickness, take a knife ora putty knife works great. scrape all of the wax off the bag. now your bag is coated inside and out with a protective film that liquid cannot get thru. and the contents of your lunch, will stay fresher longer......just dont leave your lunch bag in the sunlite.  it may melt.

  5. you wont be able to use it"EVERYDAY'' frame it

  6. I laminated a paper bag one time. We used it for years. If you have an Office Depot or that sort of store, they can laminate I think. My little one had made a lunch bag for me to take to work, and I wanted to save it. I worked in a school with a laminator, and I was able to do it there. It can be laminated on only one side, the outside, unless you take the bag apart. I slipped a plastic bag inside for double protection. It won't take a beating, like a lunch box, but it can be used for a long time. If you take it apart, very gently, and get the whole thing laminated on both sides, you can put the bag back together again, and that would probably be more durable. I hope you can figure out a way to preserve this special gift from your mom.
