Question:

How can I preserve cell formatting in Excel?

I have a document created in Excel 2007 and saved in Excel 97-03 format. When I send it to other people, my formatting does not carry through. For example, I have a cell that is about 4.6" high by 5.75" wide, with text in 10 pt. Calibri. When others open the document, the row often shows as standard row height and the text in a different font. The casual reader does not realize the amount of text in the box, and misses important information. Can I prevent this from happening, or should I be doing something differently?

  1. change to times roman, most software are able to recognize this font

  2. You will want to use Arial font, first off. Calibri is the new default sans-serif font that MS uses, not available prior to 07. Times New Roman is a Serif font, and in Excel, that can mean your data can be harder on the eyes. I would stick with Arial or another sans-serif.

Not entirely sure why your data would crunch down, but hopefully this will help
