I ran cross country in high school and I'm now starting to run again on my own because I miss racing and I want to do some road races. One thing that is VERY bothersome however is gagging. About 50-75 percent into a 5k race I start to gag. It feels like I'm about to puke, but when it gets from my stomach to my mouth I just gag. I've never actually puked it's just dry heaves. Just wondering if there was any way possible to prevent this because I went to my doctor and he hadn't heard of that before. Once again it is extremely annoying and does slow me down quite a bit.
